After every update of initramfs the jme network driver has gone down the drain and I have to re-install it manually. If you read the newspaper, you’re mis-informed.
If I continue it sets up the computer provided I do not add any thing other than the basic install. I followed a how to and set up open jnc251 from a term.
I can confirm this problem – it is not possible to get the ethernet interface detected with the netinstall set-up. It’s a bummer that this doesn’t work out-of-the-box and that it’s been ignored for so long, but at least we have a crappy workaround. If you believe everything you read, you better not read.
